Leora proudly serves as an Associate Professor of the Practice and Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs at Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration (BU SHA). She is also the Program Chair for three degree programs:

She also serves as a Faculty Brother of the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, and co-faculty advisor for the student chapter of HSMAI and BU Hillel.
Since 1999, Leora Halpern Lanz has served as HVS’s Director of Marketing. She coordinates the firm’s global marketing, external promotion, public relations, and social media efforts across its worldwide office network. This work includes managing HVS’s comprehensive hospitality services, global conferences, and exclusive data and research.
Her efforts have earned her numerous awards and accolades from the prestigious Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI). Notably, she was named Hospitality Sales & Marketing Executive of the Year in 2010.
During her time at HVS, Leora also directed the company’s Sales & Marketing Services division. This division provided sales, marketing communications, social media, and public relations expertise for various hospitality clients.

Leora holds a master’s degree from Boston University and is a graduate of Cornell University. She is an active member of HSMAI, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), and the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW).
